If Rotary is new to you, Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Locally, Anamosa Rotary Club is gearing up to celebrate 100 years of service in our community. It is a privilege to serve as the club president for the 2023-2024 year. When you look closely, you’ll see that Rotarian hands and hearts have been a part of a vast array of projects in town. We take seriously the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self”.
Most recently we have worked with the Jones County Community Foundation to finance a new sidewalk to the Rotary Shelter, and with the City of Anamosa to renovate the bandshell, both at Wapsiana Park. We look forward to partnering with other community organizations to provide community service.
Our club provides the annual 4th of July fireworks display, sponsors the Anamosa Interact Club at AHS, hosts the annual Pumpkinfest Pancake Breakfast and provides a scholarship to a senior at AHS, and maintains flower beds at the Rotary Lodge at Wapsipinicon Park and downtown Anamosa.
Our weekly meetings are fun and educational with frequent guest speakers. It’s a great way to start your Tuesday morning. If this sounds like a good fit for you, contact me at [email protected] or join us at Thou Art on a Tuesday morning at 7 a.m.
Best Regards,
Val Daily
